FAQs

What is the Call to Discipleship Learner Site?

A: This is a Website just for youth in the Call to Discipleship program. This youth-relevant approach to catechesis connects directly to the sessions of Call to Discipleship and offers fun articles, quizzes, cartoons, and polls.

How will my youth be able to access the Learner Site?

A: After your parish signs up for the Call to Discipleship you'll be able to give your youth members their own usernames and passwords. These passwords, like those for leaders, will need to be managed by the Call to Discipleship Administrator in each parish.

Will new material be added to the program in the future?

A: Definitely. The online content will grow and be refreshed over time. That's the benefit of an online program like Call to Discipleship. With your help and feedback, we will continuously develop and refine Call to Discipleship. Check out the Updates section on the Leader homepage for information on new content.

What if I'm not sure which options to include in my session?

A: View a sample session plan for suggestions. You can view this in the Tips for Success box or download it from the Getting Ready section. You'll be able to see our suggestions for one direction to take your session and which options to include.

How do I download podcasts?

A: Podcasts are a great way to familiarize yourself with the background of Call to Discipleship or to continue your own leadership development. You can download each podcast onto your iPod, import it into iTunes or Windows Media Player, or save the file to view in QuickTime. Each of these programs can be downloaded for free on the Helper Applications page or the Plan Your Program page.

How do I download songs?

A: While choosing your session options, click Preview in the Song for Prayer and Reflection option to see the song suggested for your session. You'll be able to hear a 30 second clip and follow the link to the iOCP website where you can purchase and download the entire song. You may save the file onto your computer or media player.

How do I organize my session?

A: After choosing your options, you'll be able to sequence your session by clicking and dragging each option bar into the order you wantih. Your customized session will be downloaded and printed in the way you organized it.

What do I get when I sign up for a Call to Discipleship membership?

A: You'll receive instant access to the Call to Discipleship leader and learner websites. A goBag!, containing everything you need to get started successfully, will be sent to you following your website subscription purchase.

Will my parish be able to receive multiple usernames and passwords for leaders?

A: Yes.

How do I renew my membership?

A: Renewal is automatic for Call to Discipleship members. You don't need to do anything.

What if I don't want to renew my Call to Discipleship membership?

A: All you need to do is contact us before your membership ends, or when you receive your renewal email, simply choose opt out.

When I click certain buttons or links, nothing happens. Why?

A: If some parts of the site don't appear to work (for instance, if you click on a button and nothing happens) it may be due to your web browser's configurations for JavaScript, cookies, or pop-up blocking software. Please see our JavaScript, Cookies & Pop-ups page for more information about these features of your web browser, and instructions for changing your settings to work with this site.

Help! I can't open some of the PowerPoint files in PowerPoint 2003!

A: Some PowerPoint files may not open correctly in PowerPoint 2003. This is due to a bug in PowerPoint, which Microsoft has fixed with a free software update. If you are having problems with these files, please visit the Microsoft Office Update site to download the update.
